Once upon a time, I heard a guy talking about wanting to strangle his scuba diving instructor on NPR’s Snap Judgement. I don’t scuba dive but I was enthralled with the story, so much so I stayed in my parked car for ten minutes just to hear the end. This was “storytelling” and it combined all my loves – the stage’s vitality, the page’s poetry, and the journalist’s pursuit of truth. When the Battle Creek Enquirer launched the Mosaic Storytelling Showcase in 2016, I asked to be a part of it. It has turned into a long-term relationship. You know, one where I facilitate workshops, circle story swap dates on my calendar, and live happily ever after.
